You may be wondering “Who is Susie and why would I need to ask her anything?”
I started GuestGuide Publications in 1995 (when I was 10 :). I have a degree in journalism, yet never wanted to actually become a journalist. I love to write and research and figure out how to best present a story. I have a minor in business and photography and after college I followed my dream of working in Hollywood and became a camera assistant. A copy of the very first GuestGuide I ever did was sent to me on a film set in Los Angeles. I learned many things in the film industry, especially from the Director of Photography on my first film. He taught me the importance of every little detail, paying attention to even the little things, and then that the little things often turn into big things.
To date, I have written and published 145 separate editions of seven different guide books. I am one that has used my degree and experience to create a job that I really love. I love to work with my clients to figure out what makes up their business, their details, and what they offer. Using my journalism background, I check my sources and facts to make sure what I am saying is the most accurate information I can get. All of my information is checked by the national park service, BLM, state park agencies, local officials, local experts, and anyone else that I can think of.
I get lots of questions from folks asking about an aspect of their trip that they would like more information on. If I don’t know the answer, I will do my best to find out. I love hearing from folks like you. My books have grown because of ideas and feedback from my readers. So, if you did not find the information you were looking for, please, ask away.
